The Season to Be Jolly

So, the holidays are [almost] over. If there is one thing that I find a bit annoying here is the fact that everyone anticipates and prepares for the holidays long before they begin. To give an example, once Halloween was over people were already preparing for Christmas.

What happens if you decide not to rush?

That’s simple: you won’t find essential stuff (like Christmas tree lights) that you might need later. When walking among the shelves of a store the impression you get is that a swarm of locusts visited the place. Not very pleasant, but what the heck: it’s the season to be jolly.
What about the presents?
Well… budget, time, knowing what to get, amazon. When you add the .com you solve the time issue. People seem to be a little too much obsessed with time for some reason. That being said, my impression is that online shopping is a good cure. The downside of it is that you have to prepare well ahead of time (which brings us to the little annoyance mentioned earlier).
What about the tree?
Options are good so here are a few:
You can buy one from a supermarket (generally those trees are grown in farms - Christmas tree farms you ask? of course, why would Christmas trees get a different treatment from other fruits or vegetables? I wonder if they are organic)
If you hate mothernature you can cut down your own tree. Get a permit for that at a rangers’ station and you’re good to go. The price is about half of what a farm tree would be and you get to have fun slaughtering the forest - just kidding - you get to have fun playing your part in natural selection - kindda’ the ‘wrong way’ natural selection since all the beautifull trees are cut down and the ugly ones survive, but it’s not your fault that they’re not aesthetically fit, is it?
That being said, the only thing that remains is to enjoy the Christmas holiday, forget for a few hours/days about your worries and remember what this is all about - the presents :)
