Your Satisfaction Guaranteed

Almost all the products that you can find here [in the USA] have on their label/box something like this: “bla bla. Your satisfaction is guaranteed! If you are not completely satisfied with your product, you may return it within 30 days for a replacement or full refund. bla bla”.
How can one make such claims? Why does everybody do it?
The answer is pretty simple: It’s a marketing strategy. Do you think that everyone who is not satisfied with a product returns it? What matters is that you always have that option (yeah right) and the producers of do their best (yeah right no 2). And somewhere in the back of your head, knowing that your satisfaction is guaranteed, you will eventually start believing that the product is good, very good and you’ll be satisfied (otherwise you’d have returned it by now, right?)
And in order not to end this post to suddenly I will give you a [not so] subtle quote from a South Park episode : ”This is America, and in America if something sucks, you’re supposed to be able to get your money back!
