Everyone who has taken a plane known how the seat belt on the plane
looks like.
Something like:

Now if you look at a car seat belt, now there’s a different
story:

The car seat belt is clearly superior. From being more comfortable
to actually strapping you to the chair in a situation in which a
shock would request it.
My question is:
what is the role of the airplane seat belt? I mean, the space
you have is limited (you basically sit in your seat with no leg
room whatsoever). The shock that the airplane would have to undergo
is very high in order for the seat belt to kick in. Also the shock
would have to be on the up-down axis so that the seat belt works. A
shock in front-backward axis would result in you hitting your head
against the forward chair.
So, i repeat my question? What’s the seat belt in an airplane
for?
The only logical answer I find is that the passengers
bodies can be identified based on the seat they were in in case
of a plane crash.
As a passenger, do you really care about it? No.
So my suggestion to the almighty airlines is to simply print up
some small tags which everybody wears in their pockets and spare us
of putting that uncomfortable thing that doesn’t serve any role on.
